Students and Parents,

Thank you for your interest in attending Forsyth Academy.  Forsyth Academy is designed for high school students who are seeking an educational experience outside of the traditional school setting or those students wishing to accelerate their learning and graduate early.  All applicants must be currently enrolled in a high school in Forsyth County.

Please complete all information and then meet with your counselor at the base high school.  Your application information will be automatically sent to the counselor once you submit your application below.  The counselor will complete and forward the finished application to the Forsyth Academy administration.  After the completed application has been reviewed, the student and parents will be notified regarding acceptance via phone and then scheduled for Forsyth Academy orientation.  Parents and students must attend an orientation session prior to beginning classes at Forsyth Academy.

Please note:

Full-Time Students at Forsyth Academy

Students enrolling as full-time Forsyth Academy students will take all their classes through Forsyth Academy and will not attend any classes at the base high school.  Depending on academic needs, full-time students at Forsyth Academy usually take 4-5 classes per day. Classes at Forsyth Academy are offered in the morning (8:00 – 12:00) or in the afternoon (12:30 – 4:30) and are subject to availability and class loads.  The student/teacher ratio is 15/1 which allows for more individual student attention and focus. Forsyth Academy offers two CTAE pathways (Entrepreneurship and Marketing & Management) for students who have not completed a pathway at the base high school.  Students are assigned a teacher advisor who monitors student course loads and progress toward graduation.  Upon completion of required courses at Forsyth Academy, students may choose to walk at the base school graduation ceremonies.

Cooperative Enrollment Student at Forsyth Academy

Students enrolling as Cooperative students will take classes at their base high school AND take classes at Forsyth Academy.  The base school classes can be CTAE pathway classes not offered by Forsyth Academy or academic classes needed for graduation and not available at Forsyth Academy.  Cooperative students at Forsyth Academy usually take 4-5 classes per day along with the elective class or classes at the base high school.  The Cooperative Enrollment option depends on availability of classes at both the base high school and Forsyth Academy and requires the approval of the base high school and Forsyth Academy administrations.  Upon completion of required courses at Forsyth Academy and the base high school, students may choose to walk at the base school graduation ceremonies.

Thank you for your application and best wishes!
